Location: Southampton (mostly onsite) Duration: 6 month contract Rate: 78ph UMB (Inside IR35) Role details:We are looking for a Lead/Principal System Safety Engineer to support our defence client in Southampton - the role will focus on safety engineering across integrated sensing, communications and non-kinetic effects systems being developed for test, development and demonstration. Key Responsibilities:Provide specialist safety engineering advice to support product safety authorisation in accordance with established processesEnsure programme safety activities follow the safety management plan and that all analysis is complete, accurate and appropriately documentedIdentify and analyse intrinsic and functional hazards, developing mitigation strategies to reduce residual safety risks to an ALARP levelElicit system safety requirements and ensure their effective flow-down to the appropriate engineering teamsReview subsystem safety analyses and incorporate the findings into integrated system safety assessmentsReview aircraft-level safety analysis and ensure alignment with the integrated system safety assessmentLead the delivery of safety artefacts, identifying dependencies across systems, teams and aircraft-level activitiesPresent integrated safety assessments at design reviews and communicate key findings to stakeholdersJob Requirements:Experience in safety analysis of complex systems within a safety-critical industryExperience across multiple engineering lifecycle ..... full job details .....
