MULTISKILLED OPERATIVE – BLYTH POWER STATION, NE22 7BL – FULLTIME

Reliable Contractors are recruiting for experienced Multiskilled Operatives to join the BAM project at Blyth Power Station. We are looking for candidates with the correct cards, tickets and experience who want stable employment and a regular income for the foreseeable future.

Assignment Details

Employment Type: Full-time

Payment Basis: PAYE

Pay Rate: £19.19 per hour

Paid Holidays: 31 days per year (including bank holidays)

Start Date: As soon as possible following successful vetting checks, medical and on-site induction

Assignment Duration: Ongoing / until further notice

Location: Blyth Power Station, NE22 7BL

Must Have

• Full understanding of duties required for construction works.
• Full understanding of duties required for groundworks.
• Good understanding of concrete-related works.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal explanation.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to assist chargehands and other tradespeople.
• Knowledge of multiple trades.
• Manual Handling qualification.
• Abrasive Wheels qualification.
• Working at Height training.
• Relevant CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card and/or CPCS Blue Card.

Desirable

• Working towards a CSCS Skilled Worker Card or CPCS qualification (NVQ).
• IPAF qualification.
• PASMA qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Role and Responsibilities

• Carry out multiskilled construction and groundworks activities.
• Assist with concrete-related works.
• Support chargehands and other tradespeople as required.
• Follow instructions and complete tasks to the required standard.
• Work effectively alongside other site operatives.
• Follow site health and safety procedures.

Shifts

Shift pattern to be confirmed.

Health and Safety Risks

The successful candidate will be expected to promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring site rules, procedures and relevant health and safety requirements are followed.

Key risks associated with the role include:

• Moving plant and vehicles: Follow site traffic management procedures and maintain safe segregation.
• Groundworks and uneven ground: Follow site instructions and use designated access routes.
• Manual handling: Use safe lifting techniques and appropriate equipment.
• Working at height: Follow approved procedures and use suitable fall protection where required.
• Slips, trips and falls: Keep work areas and access routes safe and tidy.

All site-specific risks and control measures must be confirmed through the project RAMS, risk assessments and site induction.
