Learning Support Assistant (LSA) We re looking for a caring and reliable Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist SEN school in Somerset. This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys helping children with additional needs and wants to make a real difference every day.The Role Learning Support Assistant (LSA) As an LSA, you ll be working closely with pupils aged 4 19, supporting them both in the classroom and around the school. Your role will involve: Providing 1:1 LSA support and small-group help to keep pupils engaged and progressing.Working with children who may have ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, PMLD or physical difficulties.Helping to create a calm, positive environment where pupils can learn at their own pace.Supporting with personal care, feeding, and moving and handling when needed (training can be arranged).Building consistent, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.Working as part of a team that includes teachers, therapists and other LSAs.Using visual aids, communication tools or Makaton where appropriate.
