HGV Field Service Engineer (Covering the North of Newcastle area)

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
- Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues
- Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records

Skills, Experience, and Education:

Communication:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to clearly explain technical issues to customers

Knowledge/Expertise:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards

Innovation:
- Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus
- General computer literacy and ability to complete technical documentation
