Health & Safety Advisor – Data Centres

An established and growing organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of major data centre construction and infrastructure projects.

This is a site-focused position working closely with project management, construction teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are maintained across live projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong construction or infrastructure H&S background, ideally with experience working on data centre projects or other complex, high-value construction environments.

• Provide day-to-day health and safety support and advice across live construction projects.

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks.

• Identify hazards, assess risks and implement appropriate control measures.

• Support project teams in maintaining a positive health and safety culture.

• Review and monitor RAMS, permits, risk assessments and method statements.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences.

• Assist with the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

• Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and safety awareness sessions.

• Monitor subcontractor health and safety performance.

• Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, company policies and client requirements.

• Maintain accurate H&S records, reports and inspection documentation.

• Support internal and external audits.

• Attend project and client meetings where required.

• Work closely with site management to identify areas for continuous improvement.

• Provide guidance on best practice across all aspects of construction health and safety.

• Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction, infrastructure, Civils or a similar environment.

• Experience working on data centre projects would be advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation.

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is desirable/essential depending on experience.

• IOSH membership desirable.

• Experience reviewing RAMS, risk assessments and method statements.

• Strong site inspection and auditing experience.

• Experience working with subcontractors and wider project teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure construction environment.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to challenge unsafe practices.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
