Job Title: Interim Building Surveyor

Rate: -300 - -325 per day

We are seeking an experienced Interim Building Surveyor to join a forward-thinking local authority in Surrey. This role will be instrumental in leading on the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the Council''s operational (non-housing) property portfolio.

• Manage and deliver responsive repairs and planned maintenance across a varied operational estate (e.g., offices, community buildings, depots).

• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of works.

• Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects, and specify remedial works.

• Depending on capacity and project pipeline, there may be opportunities to assist with capital works or improvement projects.

• Proven track record of building repairs and maintenance, ideally within the public sector or a similar environment.

• Able to hit the ground running, with minimal supervision.

• Experience working across a diverse property portfolio.

• Strong understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety responsibilities in operational buildings.

• CIOB or RICS accreditation is desirable, but not essential if you have demonstrable experience in a similar setting.

• Own vehicle and full driving licence are essential due to site visits.
