Assistant Accountant Birkenhead Permanent c£32,000 DOE Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm / Friday 8am to 12:30pm - 37.5hr per week (fully office based) KPI Recruiting have partnered with a highly established business who are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance function, working closely alongside the Management Accountant.Key Responsibilities Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepaymentsSupporting budgeting and forecasting processes alongside the accountantMaintaining and reconciling the general ledger and performing bank reconciliations, investigating discrepanciesManaging accounts receivable, including invoice posting, credit control and chasing outstanding balancesMonitoring customer accounts and ensuring timely collectionsSupporting payroll processing and related reconciliationsAssisting with the preparation and submission of VAT returnsMaintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciationSupporting year-end audit processes and liaising with external auditorsPreparing financial reports and providing analysis as requiredEnsuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controlsMaintaining accurate financial records and documentationContributing to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systemsProcessing supplier invoices and supporting accounts payab
