Purchase Ledger Manager

Overview
As the Purchase Ledger Manager, you will oversee the accounts'' payable function, managing a team to process invoices, reconcile supplier accounts, and ensure timely payments to maintain financial accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye, attention to detail, and strong organisation.Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Purchase Ledger team, overseeing performance, developing staff, and setting and monitoring objectives.Oversee the accurate and efficient processing of high-volume invoices.Ensure timely payment of supplier invoices and manage payments through various methods, including BACS.Perform and oversee monthly supplier statement reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.Manage and resolve email inbox queries.Identify and support process improvements to the purchase ledger systems and processes, promoting continuous improvement and efficient workflows.Contribute to month-end closing, prepare reports on aged creditors, and provide analysis to senior management.Ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls, and relevant accounting standards while minimising financial and reputational risk.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, liaising with departments and external contacts to resolve queries and ensure smooth operations.Requirements
Experience running a large purchase ledger function with strong financial controls.Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.Deep knowledge of accounting principles and demonstrable experience leading a team to deliver these.Proven problem-solver, proactive in identifying issues, recommending solutions, and implementing agreed recommendations.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.Experience working within a large organisation and managing month-end and year-end finance processes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.Benefits
