We are recruiting for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to work on a permanent basis for an engineering/construction company in the Wigan area. Starting salary is c 25-28,000 per annum plus holidays, pension etc. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to ensure robust cost control, accurate forecasting, and effective contract administration across a diverse portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities for the Graduate Quantity Surveyor: Commercial and Cost Management Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, and budget forecasts. Support the development of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and cost plans. Monitor project costs and track expenditure against approved budgets. Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts. Contribute to cost value reconciliation (CVR) reporting. Procurement and Contract Administration Support subcontractor procurement processes, including tender analysis and evaluation. Assist in drafting and administering contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, or bespoke engineering contracts). Help manage variations, change control procedures, and compensation events. Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation. Project Support Liaise with design engineers to ensure cost-effective design solutions.
