Quality Controller

Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm; Friday, 8:00am–2:00pm
Location: Barnsley

We are recruiting an experienced and proactive Quality Controller to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a heavy industrial environment.

This is a hands-on shopfloor role for a Quality Controller who can lead from the front, maintain high quality standards, and support a small team.

• Manage, support and develop a small quality team
• Deliver training and guidance to new starters
• Work hands-on within a heavy industrial shopfloor environment
• Carry out quality checks and inspections throughout the manufacturing process
• Ensure quality procedures and standards are consistently followed
• Support continuous improvement and help resolve quality-related issues
• Maintain and develop quality documentation and processes
• Work with and effectively use the company’s management system
• Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards

The successful Quality Controller will have:

• Previous experience in a Quality Controller or similar quality-focused role
• Experience of managing or supervising a small team
• The ability to train and support new starters
• A hands-on approach and confidence working on a busy shopfloor
• Experience within heavy industry or a manufacturing environment
• Good working knowledge of relevant ISO standards and quality systems
• Confidence using a management system to record, monitor and manage quality information
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of quality standards
