Audit & Accounts Manager | Accountancy Practice | Hertfordshire | Up to £70k p.a.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join a professional and supportive team, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors.

The position offers a broad mix of audit, accounting and client management responsibilities, making it particularly appealing to someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing assignments and supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities of the Audit & Accounts Manager will include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Reviewing statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing practical accounting and financial advice.
• Managing assignment deadlines, budgets and workflow to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing guidance and support.
• Liaising with Partners and senior colleagues on technical matters and client requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and strengthen client relationships.
• Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of internal processes.
  
  

The successful Audit & Accounts Managerwill have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in audit and accounts within a UK accountancy practice (minimum of 2 years).
• Proven experience managing audit assignments and reviewing statutory accounts.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
• Experience managing client relationships and overseeing a portfolio of clients.
• The ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
