Job Title: Estimator (M&E - Small Works, PFI Contracts)
Location: Halesowen (Office-Based)
Contract Type: Part-Time / Freelance (1-2 Days per Week)
Rate: Day Rate (Negotiable, DOE)

Overview
We are a small, growing contractor delivering responsive and planned works within PFI environments, primarily across schools and hospitals. We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) background to support our small works division on a flexible, part-time basis.

Role Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for M&E small works projects
• Reviewing client specifications, drawings, and tender documents
• Producing detailed material take-offs and labour costings
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
• Supporting pricing submissions within PFI contract frameworks
• Assisting with variations, cost planning, and value engineering where required
• Maintaining up-to-date pricing data and cost benchmarks

Requirements

• Proven experience in estimating within M&E works (essential)
• Familiarity with PFI contracts, particularly in education and healthcare settings
• Strong understanding of materials, labour, and supply chain pricing
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Proficient in estimating software and Excel
• Reliable and able to work independently within a small team

Working Arrangement

• 1-2 days per week (flexible)
• Office-based in Halesowen or work remotely
• Ongoing opportunity with potential for increased workload
