Finance Assistant

Location: Leicester
Salary: c£28,000
Working Pattern: Full-time | Hybrid - 2 days working from home
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a friendly and supportive finance team within a well-established business based in Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous finance experience who is looking to develop their skills and gain further exposure within a busy finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

- Processing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

- Assisting with bank and supplier statement reconciliations.

- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.

- Maintaining accurate financial records and updating accounting systems.

- Assisting with payment runs and resolving invoice queries.

- Supporting month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.

- Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

About You:

- Previous experience within a finance or accounts assistant role.

- Good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations.

- Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail.

- Excellent organisational and communication skills.

- A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn and develop.

- AAT qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
