Are you looking to build a long-term career in payroll within a supportive accountancy practice environment?

We''re working with a growing professional services firm looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some payroll, finance or administration experience who is keen to develop their technical knowledge and progress their career within payroll.

You''ll receive hands-on training, exposure to a wide variety of client payrolls, and the opportunity to grow into managing your own portfolio over time.

Working as part of an established payroll function, you''ll support the delivery of payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients, helping to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
• Supporting pension administration and uploads
• Processing payroll changes including starters, leavers and amendments
• Producing payroll documentation including P45s and P60s
• Liaising with clients and responding to payroll queries
• Supporting year-end payroll activities
• Maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation
• Working closely with senior payroll staff to develop your technical knowledge

We''re looking for someone who:

• Has some exposure to payroll, finance administration or office-based administration
• Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Enjoys working with numbers and data
• Has good communication skills and enjoys helping others
• Is keen to learn payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Has good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Wants to progress their career within payroll and professional services
