Sales Ledger Clerk
Solihull | Permanent | Up to £33,000 | Fully Office Based
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

We’re recruiting for an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join a lovely, close-knit finance team within an SME based in Solihull.

The business is currently going through a period of change, so this role would suit someone experienced, confident and happy to get stuck in. Alongside taking ownership of the sales ledger, you’ll support the migration to a new finance system and help review and improve the way things are currently done across accounts receivable, cash allocation and credit control.

As part of a small team, you’ll also need to be agile and flexible, pitching in across purchase ledger and customer operations when required.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing the day-to-day sales ledger and accounts receivable process
• Allocating and reconciling incoming payments
• Proactively chasing outstanding debt and resolving queries
• Building good relationships with customers to keep payments on track
• Supporting the migration and implementation of a new finance system
• Reviewing existing processes and identifying better ways of working
• Providing support across purchase ledger and customer operations when needed
• Working closely with the wider team to ensure the finance function runs smoothly

What we’re looking for:

• Strong, hands-on Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable experience
• Confident cash allocation and reconciliation skills
• Experience of proactive credit control and debt chasing
• Ideally, experience of a system migration, implementation or finance transformation
• A proactive approach with the confidence to suggest improvements
• Someone flexible and adaptable who is happy to work outside of a strict job description when the business needs it
• Comfortable working within a small SME environment and being fully office based
