Engineering Lead - Observability (Prometheus/Grafana) Global Bank 6-Month Contract Inside IR35Hybrid: 2 Days Onsite - London, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh My client, a global bank is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to strengthen its observability and monitoring capabilities across critical applications. This is a hands-on role focused on Prometheus, Grafana, and modern telemetry tooling. Key Responsibilities Improve Prometheus scrape coverage, exporter deployment, and Grafana dashboards for critical systems.Enhance monitoring configuration, alert quality, SLIs/SLOs, and KPIs.Deliver accurate end-to-end flow visibility through service maps and dependency visualisation.Refine observability practices to support operational resilience Essential Skills Deep expertise with Prometheus (instrumentation, PromQL, alerting rules, HA, Thanos/Cortex/Mimir).Strong Grafana skills: dashboards, alerting, synthetic monitoring, Loki logs, RUM tooling.Experience with APIs, automation, and integrations across Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry.
