Sapien is looking for a Design Engineer / CAD Designer for our client based in Leamington Spa. This is a hands on Mechanical Design Engineer role, covering everything from developing new products and producing detailed SolidWorks drawings through to manufacturing, testing and ongoing product improvements. We''re open to experienced Design Engineers, but also CAD Engineers and candidates who have moved into design from an assembly or manufacturing background. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed 3D CAD models, GA drawings, manufacturing drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks. Develop new and existing products from concept through to detailed design, testing and production. Improve existing products with a focus on DFM, cost reduction, material selection and performance. Design components and assemblies for different manufacturing processes, including castings, injection moulding and machining. Work with operations and manufacturing teams to develop test equipment and production solutions. Support engineering changes and continuous improvement projects. Carry out calculations and design studies to check and validate designs. Work closely with different teams throughout product development and product launches. Support CMM and metrology inspection of new and existing components. Investigate design and manufacturing issues and help identify practical solutions. ..... full job details .....
