St George the Martyr is a growing Parish Church. We are looking for an experienced operational leader who can help us build the organisation around that growth and turn vision into practical reality. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of a vibrant, world-diverse parish in central London. Our congregation has grown, new ministries have taken root, Holy Hour has created a distinctive new space for worship and encounter, and the Borough Food Cooperative has become an increasingly important part of our relationship with the neighbourhood. There is a great deal of life here. The question for us now is how we develop the people, systems, resources and organisational capacity needed to sustain it. We are therefore appointing a Director of Operations / Parish Clerk to become the senior lay operational leader of St George the Martyr. Working closely with the Rector, Churchwardens and PCC, you will take substantial responsibility for the effective day-to-day running and development of the parish. You will help turn our Mission Action Plan and wider ambitions into practical plans, strengthen our finances and governance, lead staff, improve systems, oversee significant projects and ensure that good decisions become reality.
