You''ll help keep streets and public spaces across the council area clean, safe and tidy. What you''ll be doing:Street sweeping and litter picking in town centres, residential areas and open spacesEmptying litter bins and clearing fly-tipping and wasteSupporting mechanical sweepers and street cleansing crewsUsing equipment safely, such as brushes, shovels, leaf blowers and power washersHelping with seasonal work such as leaf clearance and winter grittingWearing the correct PPE and following safe working practicesReporting problems such as damaged bins, vandalism or hazards What you''ll need:Experience of general operative, labouring, cleansing, refuse or other outdoor manual workGood health and safety awareness, including correct use of PPE and safe manual handlingWillingness to work outdoors in all weather conditionsA reliable, hardworking approach and the ability to work as part of a teamA polite, helpful manner when dealing with the publicA driving licence would be an advantage.
