A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an RandD Engineer to join an established engineering company. This role involves taking ownership of RandD projects from initial concept and feasibility through detailed CAD design, prototyping, testing and final manufacture. Key Responsibilities: Contribute engineering expertise to early-stage concept development, feasibility assessments and the evaluation of new product ideas. Translate approved concepts into clear engineering objectives, development briefs and technical specifications. Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs, ideally using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Develop product performance criteria and undertake virtual testing, including stress analysis and other engineering assessments. Produce technical specifications and specification summary reports to support development decisions. Extract CAD part files, raise procurement requests and source components required for prototype development. Fabricate, modify and assemble prototype components, using practical engineering and metalworking skills where required. Develop and carry out testing methodologies to assess product functionality, structural performance and weather resistance. Prepare test rigs and equipment, conduct internal testing and coordinate external testing activities where necessary. Collect, analyse and present test data, measurements and observations in clear technical reports.
