This is a full-time, temporary to permanent contact starting ASAP.Working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am - 4pm on a Friday. This is a term-time Teaching Assistant role. With the school being on the outskirts of Southampton, in the New Forest area, this role is suited to a driver, or someone who lives locally in Lymington or Brockenhurst. The SEN school caters for pupils aged 7-19 years who are diagnosed with aspergers syndrome and other associated needs on the autistic spectrum. You will be required to support pupils across the school in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.The suitable Teaching Assistant will have experience of supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within an SEN environment. You will be empathetic, nurturing, be able to manage varying levels of challenging behaviour and have the ability to think on your feet and adapt to situations.
