Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a school setting, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about mental health and committed to making a positive, long-term impact on young people''s lives.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

• Support students with emotional regulation and positive coping strategies

• Assist with classroom engagement and behaviour support

• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

• Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

• Experience supporting children or young people with mental health or SEMH needs

• Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Understanding of safeguarding procedures

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Relevant experience may include: education, psychology, youth work, care work, counselling, or mental health support roles.
