TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming Secondary School in Merthyr Tydfil, who are looking for a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis.

The role is available for an immediate start and will initially run until February half term, with the potential for an extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused and on task.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor or someone with relevant classroom experience looking to further develop their skills within a supportive secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teaching staff

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and complete the work set

• Following school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures

• Building positive professional relationships with pupils and staff

• Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor with the following:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Confidence supervising classes independently across different subjects

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A proactive, adaptable and resilient approach

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• A genuine passion for supporting young people''s education and development
