Sheet Metal Engineer Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Contract: Permanent Rate: £35,000 £40,000 DOE Hours: Monday Thursday 07 00, Friday 07 00 Our Client is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Engineer to join their office-based engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the Southeast s leading steel contract manufacturers, supporting projects for Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. Key Responsibilities: Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for sheet metal components and assemblies. Prepare quotations, costings, and material estimations for new and existing projects. Use ERP systems for job processing, routing, and BOM creation. Liaise with sales, production, and purchasing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective. Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical assistance to sales and production teams. Requirements: Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Engineer or similar role in fabrication/manufacturing. Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (laser cutting, folding, welding, finishing). Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Radan). Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Excellent interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
