About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Planner with an engineering background to support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded Planner who understands construction methodologies and enjoys working across complex and challenging projects. You will play a key role in developing, managing and reporting project programmes from pre-construction through to completion.

The successful candidate will work across a variety of projects, including civil engineering, remediation, demolition, groundworks and enabling works, providing planning expertise to project teams and helping ensure programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or other planning software.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and commercial teams to develop realistic and achievable programmes.

• Develop baseline programmes, short-term programmes and detailed construction schedules.

• Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.

• Produce regular programme updates, progress reports and look-ahead schedules.

• Analyse programme performance and provide clear information to project teams and senior management.

• Assist with the development of construction methodologies, sequencing and resource requirements.

• Liaise with site teams to capture progress and ensure programme information accurately reflects site activities.

• Identify programme risks and support the development of mitigation and recovery plans.

• Assist with tender and pre-construction planning activities where required.

• Support change management and assessment of programme impacts.

• Attend project and progress meetings, providing planning updates and technical input.

• Ensure planning activities are aligned with project objectives, contractual requirements and delivery milestones.

About You

We are looking for a Project Planner with an engineering or construction background who understands how projects are physically delivered on site.

You will ideally have experience working within civil engineering or construction environments and be comfortable dealing with complex sequencing, multiple work fronts and changing project requirements.

Key Requirements

• Engineering, construction or related technical background.

• Previous experience working as a Planner or Project Planner within the construction or civil engineering sector.

• Experience across one or more of civil engineering, demolition, remediation, groundworks or enabling works.

• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.

• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or other planning software.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes and project information.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with site and project teams.

• Good understanding of project controls, progress measurement and programme reporting.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
