General Practitioner- Out of Hours

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B remand prison based in Winchester, Hampshire. The prison houses around 706 patients and is a busy environment where no two days are the same. The role is focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients, and you will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SMS prescriber, ACP and other GPs.Hours
Saturdays 1pm-6pmSalary
This position is part time. Main duties of the job
70As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you willProvide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future managementPrescribe for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptionsProvide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, and actively participate in clinical governance and effectiveness activities, including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathwaysWe recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as an in-depth induction for all staff, whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, and the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2.It doesn’t stop there

MBChB or MBBSInclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers ListEvidence of engagement with annual appraisalExperience working as a General Practitioner in community general practiceAbility to work with patients with a history of substance misuseRCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
