Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Lead based in our London office, offering a flexible combination of in-office and remote work. Lead one of the teams under Regional Platform Squad. We are one of the longest-running squads in the company building the platform for the core domains of Wise - Transfer, Payout and Partner Integrations. Besides that we are supporting product teams to extend the Platform capabilities for the new products and the new markets.The main focus for the team is to unlock new products and features for Wise Platform partners. These are the banks and financial institutions that are integrating with Wise over APIs to offer international remittances and other Wise products to their direct customers. As a hands-on engineering lead you’ll learn about the Wise core domains and will take an active part in their evolution. You’ll meet Wise Platform partners to understand their experiences and discuss the features and products they require. After consolidating the knowledge of both problem spaces, with the help of the dedicated product manager, you’ll be able to design the respective product and business flows. Subsequently, together with your engineering team to scope,design and implement the technical solutions. Your team is going to build a Wise within Wise - a hub that hosts thousands of banks communicating financially with each other within our platform.How we work

We work in an agile fashion, with engineers closely collaborating with the product manager, and the analyst. The team operates across our Singapore and London offices.Responsibilities

As an engineering lead, you will be responsible for the quality of your team’s technical solutions, including code quality, architecture applicability, performance, reliability and adherence to company-wide engineering standards.As a people manager, you will be responsible for your team''s productivity, goal setting, career path identification, mentoring and supporting people in your team. Also you’ll ensure the team has the right size and mix of profiles. Decide when to hire. Think about the team organization and evolve the team when needed.What do you need?
