Position Details

• Role: Site Engineer

• Location: Thurrock, Grays

• Rate: -450 Umbrella, Inside IR35

• Contract Dates: ASAP to 31/03/2027

Key Responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Environment: You will ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm and support sustainability activities. You will also produce Task Briefing Sheets, carry out safety inspections, and contribute to Permits to Dig and Safe Systems of Work.

• Engineering Control: You will be responsible for setting out from primary control, providing sketches of setting out information, and maintaining survey equipment and testing regimes. You will also read drawings and specifications, and navigate design models using Navisworks.

• Quality & Productivity: You will produce as-built drawings and handover documentation, complete Quality Check Sheets, and maintain accurate daily diaries. You will also measure actual materials used against theoretical measures and mark up weekly progress against the programme.

• Commercial: You will produce accurate daily diaries of resources (including labour, plant, and subcontractors), produce weekly measures, and understand how to record additional works.

What We Are Looking For:

• You must hold a current driving license and a CSCS Card.

• You must have a strong work ethic with the flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.

• You must be a good team player with strong communication skills, capable of taking ownership of tasks and working on your own initiative.

• You need proven setting out techniques, specifically the ability to use a level, EDM, and GPS.

• You must have a strong understanding of construction tolerances and be able to read and understand drawings, schedules, and Activity Control Plans.

• You must be able to accurately take off and schedule material quantities.
