Interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager – Based in London, hybrid. Length: 6 months initially. Inside IR35. Rate: £500 per day via an umbrella company.We are seeking a highly experienced finance professional to take on an interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager role within a local authority. The successful candidate will have at least three years'' recent experience operating at Deputy Chief Accountant level in a local government setting.Responsibilities

Lead the completion and external audit of the Council\''s 2024/25 Statement of Accounts, ensuring full statutory complianceInitiate and oversee preparations for the 2025/26 year-end closure, including robust in-year reconciliation proceduresManage all aspects of the Collection FundDrive automation and digitisation of statutory financial returns using the Council\''s financial systemsEnsure high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and audit readinessExperience and knowledge required

Proven track record in end-to-end production of statutory accountsDeep understanding of local government finance legislationStrong leadership in complex financial environmentsExperience in financial reporting and audit processesHow to apply
