Gas Engineer

Salary: £41,000 - £43,000 per annum

The role

Our client, a respected housing association in North Somerset, is looking for a Gas Engineer to join their in-house repairs and maintenance team. You’ll be working directly for the housing association, so you’ll get the stability and support of a long-term employer, with the chance to see the real difference your work makes to residents.

The role covers a mix of planned servicing and reactive breakdown work across the housing stock.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out annual gas servicing and safety checks (CP12 / landlord gas safety records) across domestic properties
• Attend and diagnose breakdowns, completing repairs to boilers, heating systems and associated gas appliances
• Respond to emergency call-outs in line with service level agreements
• Complete accurate job paperwork and record updates on handheld devices
• Provide a professional, friendly service to residents, including those who may be vulnerable
• Work safely and in line with Gas Safe regulations, company policies and health and safety requirements

About you

• Current Gas Safe registration with the relevant domestic qualifications (ACS)
• Proven experience in domestic gas servicing and breakdown repairs, ideally within social housing or the public sector
• Experience with a range of boilers and heating systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Oil, unvented or other qualifications are desirable but not essential
