This is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between the client, the design interface, and what is physically possible to produce with the material remit - for example metals, acrylics. The successful candidate will ensure design concepts are accurately translated into safe, manufacturable, and high-quality technical drawings.Key Responsibilities:Oversee creation of GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly diagrams, and installation guides.Ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with UK regulations.Technical contact for Projects, Production, and external engineers.Stay up to date with new materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends.About you:Proven experience in technical design or engineering designExperience working with design for metal fabricationExpert in SolidWorks or AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D beneficial); familiarity with Adobe Illustrator.Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and UK construction regulations (Building Regs, CDM).Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Desirable:Engineering or Product Design qualification (HNC/HND/degree).Experience with 3D modelling, ERP/MRP systems, BOM creation, or change control processes.Benefits:Competitive salary + performance bonusPension schemeCareer development opportunities23 days holiday + bank holi
