BSL Qualified Teaching Assistant
Reed Education are working in partnership with a large, well-established SEN school in the Morecambe area to recruit a full-time British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026.This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced BSL professional to support a young person within a specialist school setting.Job Description:The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a Year 7 boy who is Deaf and uses BSL to communicate, and who also has ADHD and learning difficulties.The role will involve:Interpreting whole-class lessons using BSLSupporting the pupil''s communication and access to learning throughout the school dayWorking collaboratively as part of the wider classroom and SEN team within a large SEN school The Role:Monday to Friday8:30am - 3:30pmTerm time onlyLong-term/permanent Essential Requirements:Minimum BSL Level 4 qualification (This must be from an official, reputable training provider and is essential)Clear DBS (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting)Reliability and commitment to the roleAbility to build positive relationships with pupils with additional needs Desirable Experience:Experience working 1:1 with Deaf childrenExperience supporting children with additional needs, including ADHD and learning difficultiesPrevious experience in a school or care setting Referral Opportunity!If you know someone who may be interested in this role, please feel free to share this opportunity with them.Remember, you can refer a frie
