SEN Support
We''re looking for a patient, creative, and supportive tutor to work with a Year 8 student who needs help re-engaging with education, particularly in Maths and English. They have SEN needs (ADHD and possible ASD, not formally diagnosed) and have struggled to stay focused in lessons, leading to a loss of interest in these subjects. This role relies heavily on a mentoring-based approach. The priority is relationship-building, emotional safety, and helping the student feel supported and understood. Academic learning will be introduced slowly and only at the student''s pace, once trust and confidence have been established. Your role will be to: Provide calm, nurturing, mentoring-focused sessionsBuild trust before introducing academic contentMake learning fun and accessible through creative, tailored activitiesBoost confidence and motivation in core subjectsAdapt lessons to the student''s mood, interests, and emotional readiness We''d love to hear from you if you: Have experience supporting students with SENCan confidently combine mentoring with flexible learningAre patient, empathetic, and skilled at making sessions engagingUnderstand the value of slow, relationship-led academic re-engagementHave 6 months experience within a UK education setting Role Details: Subjects: Maths and English (Year 8 level, introduced gradually)Location: DT11Hours: 8 hours per week (flexible)Pay: £25-£30 per hour depending on experience
