At Citi, you''ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.Job OverviewThe Product Engineering Director is responsible for defining product strategy, engaging applications teams to the need for new cloud products and services, and managing cloud product service lifecycle and roadmaps. The role will oversee design to implementation to ongoing performance monitoring, ensuring Citi makes strategic choices in onboarding, managing, and exiting vendors from the product portfolio. The role requires a technologist with experience working directly with engineering teams to deliver cloud services and products in an iterative, agile way.Objectives of this role:Drive the product- and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams (central cloud engineering and application teams)Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships to drive the curation of services in cloudWork with application teams to build roadmaps for each curated cloud service, manage priority of work into the engineering teams aligned to delivering a curated cloud serviceAnalyze product requirements and develop an appropriate product team approach to delivering themDevelop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departmentsAppraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plansCreate a cohesive delivery function in Citi by joining application teams with central cloud engineering teams and ensuring OKRs are established, executed and measuredBe a product evangelist to drive scaled adoption of released products across CitiRequired skills and qualifications:Can demonstrate previous experience of leading engineering teams to deliver cloud Infrastructure as Code that build platforms and services in both Amazon Web Services and Google CloudYou will have a Technical engineering background, with hands on experience of Terraform, Python, Java and GOHave extensive experience in delivering cloud modernization in large complex global organizations including a good understanding of application architectures, cloud services and automationYou understand how to build central cloud pipelines, compute and data platforms and can demonstrate where you have successfully led engineering teams to deliver this in your previous rolesYou have product engineering leadership experience in previous roles, able to define product roadmaps, prioritize work and drive value outcomes, and become a key contributor to Citi''s cloud strategy and modernization program10 years + / Strong experience in a dynamic product management roleProven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycleHigh effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams10 years + experience of delivering products that leverage cloud servicesProven software delivery experience, working with development teams to drive iterative / continuous deploymentsStrong technical understanding of software delivery, cloud services, providers'' and toolsDemonstrable experience in helping to identify, drive, and facilitate external partnerships that accelerate product usage, effectiveness, and deepen customer adoption and overall successExtensive track record leading product and engineering teamsExceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skillsCurious, problem-solving leadership styleAble to develop, scale, and continuously cultivate a strong product culture and team, energizing their team members while also holding them accountable to set goalsAlign strategy with product performance metrics (KPIs) that reflect capacity, utilization, efficiency, uptimeSkills and qualifications:Previous experience in software and web developmentUnderstanding of value stream mapping and how to increase productivity of development teamsTrack record of working in financial services or other regulated industries, specifically regarding the leveraging of cloud servicesSolid understanding of prioritization methodologies and how to break work down and deliver using a lean approach with close collaboration with Agile delivery managersPersonal Characteristics:"Servant" leader and action-oriented who can set strategy and drive execution with a "roll up the sleeves" approachPersonally committed to moving aggressively to achieve scaleExtremely detail oriented person that leads with process and disciplineEntrepreneurial and ambitious with a "can-do" mentalityA natural collaboratorForward-thinking, optimistic and excited about driving cloud transformation in large enterprise organizationsFlexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing and ambiguous environmentsAn obsession with building exceptional products;
