Copello are working with a leading defence and engineering organisation to recruit a Principal Safety Engineer to join a long-term programme at the forefront of the UK s nuclear sector. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in high-integrity, regulated environments and wants to take real ownership of key safety deliverables. You ll be part of a team that directly supports the development and ongoing assurance of nuclear safety cases working closely with Engineering, Human Factors and Site Safety teams to keep standards high and the plant safe. What you ll be doing: Authoring and managing nuclear site assets'' design substantiation documentation supporting the site nuclear safety case Collaborating with the wider business on site assets nuclear design substantiation related activities Supporting the implementation of design substantiation requirements Reviewing analyses, assessments, and calculations supporting nuclear design substantiation Supporting periodic review of safety Taking ownership of deliverables, and demonstrating high levels of autonomy and leadership Support in the development of other Nuclear Substantiation team members Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders including Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority Teams Your skills and experiences: Essential: Degree qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent working experience.
