Van Driver (Cat B) - Dry Ice Deliveries

Pay Rate:15 per hour for Harlow and Greenwich AND -16 per hour for Wembley
Contract: Temporary Ongoing (Minimum 3 Months)
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
Start Time: Approximately 6:00am - 7:00am
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 8 hours per day

The Role Pertemps are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Van Driver (Category B) to support a leading gases supplier delivering dry ice products to hospitals and research laboratories.

You will be driving a long wheelbase drop-sided van fitted with a tail lift, making deliveries from BOC PGP Cylinder Sites to customers across the region. The role involves both driving and manual handling, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver dry ice to hospitals and research facilities.
• Operate a long wheelbase drop-sided van with tail lift.
• Load and unload products safely using manual handling techniques.
• Use handheld scanning devices to record deliveries.
• Complete deliveries in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations.

Requirements To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A full UK Category B driving licence.
• At least 2 years'' experience driving long wheelbase transit-style vehicles.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
• No CU80 endorsements.
• Good levels of physical fitness due to manual handling requirements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Compliance & Training Successful candidates will be required to complete:

• Driving assessment conducted by BOC.
• Drug & Alcohol Medical Questionnaire.
• DBS check.
• Full training including:
  • Manual handling.
  • Hand scanner operation.
  • Site-specific induction and procedures.
