IT Proximity Engineer - -35,000/-40,000 per annum - Goole

Principal IT are working with a global player in the natural chemistry sector that are looking for an IT proximity engineer to join their team.

You will provide Level 1 proximity support for general end-user technology, alongside enhanced Level 1 and Level 2 hardware support for industrial, production, warehouse and logistics environments.

The role will be primarily based in Goole with occasional travel to Northallerton, with travel between the two sites typically required one day per week.

You will act as the local technical point of contact when issues cannot be resolved remotely by the central Service Desk. You''ll provide on-site diagnosis, equipment deployment, hardware troubleshooting and local technical intervention across office, production, warehouse and logistics environments.

What You''ll Do

• Provide 1st/2nd line on-site IT support across two sites.
• Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams, PCs, laptops, mobiles, printers and peripherals.
• Support industrial/warehouse technology including RF scanners, vehicle-mounted tablets, touchscreens, label printers, scales and industrial workstations.
• Deploy, configure, replace and relocate IT equipment across office, production and warehouse environments.
• Support user onboarding, moves and leavers.
• Carry out basic network connectivity, cabling and patching checks.
• Maintain IT assets, stock, CMDB and technical documentation.
• Support urgent production and warehouse IT incidents.
• Log and manage incidents through an ITSM platform / ServiceNow.
• Provide hands-and-eyes support for infrastructure teams, projects and third-party suppliers.
• Escalate complex network, infrastructure, application and security issues appropriately.
• Follow ITIL, security, change-control and site safety procedures.

What We''re Looking For

• Experience in IT Support, IT Proximity, Field Engineering or Site Support.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and computer hardware.
• Understanding of basic networking and physical connectivity.
• Experience supporting users in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics or multi-site environment is highly desirable.
• Experience with an ITSM/Service Desk platform; ServiceNow is advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and customer-service skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable

• IT, Microsoft, CompTIA or ITIL qualification/certification.
• Experience with SAP/RF devices, warehouse scanners, industrial printers, touchscreens or vehicle-mounted equipment.
• Experience supporting industrial/operational IT environments.

The Package:

If successful our client is offering a salary between -35,000 & -40,000 per annum, favourable holiday allowance, plus many more.
