We are looking for an experienced Interim HR Advisory Manager to lead the Employee Relations-focused HR Advisory service for a Local Authority.6 Months contract with a possibility of getting extendedHybrid WorkingThis is a hands-on operational leadership role, ideal for an established interim who is confident managing complex ER casework, advising senior leaders and leading multi-layered HR teams in a fast-paced public sector environment.Alongside leading the core HR Advisory function, the role includes strategic oversight of a traded Schools HR service, ensuring consistent standards, quality and alignment across both services.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the HR Advisory service with a strong focus on Employee RelationsOversee and actively manage a complex ER caseload (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and high-risk cases)Provide expert advice to senior leaders on sensitive and high-profile mattersDirectly manage, coach and quality assure a team of 4 HR AdvisorsProvide oversight and strategic direction to the Schools HR Manager and their team delivering SLA-based HR supportEnsure consistency, governance and risk management across all ER activityEnsure compliance with employment legislation and organisational policyLead and contribute to the development and refinement of HR and ER policiesEmbed policy into operational practice, using insight from casework to drive continuous improvementAbout YouA strong background leading HR Advisory and/or Employee Relations functions
