Talent Guardian are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing food manufacturer for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team at their Wednesbury site.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment, fault-finding on machinery and keeping high-volume manufacturing lines running efficiently.
You''ll be working across both electrical and mechanical maintenance, supporting a range of automated production equipment including filling machines, can seamers, blow moulders and associated plant equipment.
What you''ll be doing
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery and plant.
- Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults, helping minimise production downtime.
- Maintain and repair automated filling, can-seaming and packing equipment.
- Carry out electrical installations in line with current 18th Edition regulations.
- Support the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
- Fault-find across PLCs, AC/DC drives, motors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Maintain and fault-find metal detection and other critical production equipment.
- Complete and document routine maintenance schedules using the site''s CMMS.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and reactive work orders to keep production running.
- Work independently as well as alongside the wider Engineering and Production teams.
We''re looking for a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias who is confident working on production machinery within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
Ideally, you''ll have:
- 18th Edition qualification.
- City & Guilds Level 3 in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Experience working with PLCs and automated production machinery.
- Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- A strong practical mechanical maintenance skillset alongside your electrical experience.
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but broader manufacturing and production backgrounds will also be considered.
- An apprentice-trained background would be beneficial.
- £40,000 - £42,436 salary
- Rotating day and afternoon shifts
