A fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career.

A children''s residential home in Salford is looking to recruit a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to help establish and develop a supportive, positive and consistent team environment.

This is an opportunity for someone with experience in residential childcare who is confident leading by example, overseeing shifts and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

You''ll play an important role in helping children feel safe, supported and positive about their future. Alongside providing direct care, you''ll take on additional leadership responsibilities, including:

Building positive relationships with children based on trust, consistency and respect.

Supporting daily routines, including school runs, meals, activities and emotional support.

Providing a calm and reliable presence during challenging situations.

Leading shifts, delegating responsibilities and supporting colleagues throughout the day.

Acting as a positive role model and promoting good practice across the team.

Overseeing medication administration, risk assessments and key records.

Promoting education, wellbeing, independence, life skills and positive experiences.

Helping to maintain a warm, safe and welcoming home environment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working within children''s residential care or a similar setting.

Hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Be confident leading shifts and providing guidance and support to other members of staff.

Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Be emotionally resilient, able to remain calm during challenging situations and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.

Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential).

Salary, Benefits & Development

-15.50 per hour.

-1,000 welcome bonus (-500 upon successful completion of induction and -500 upon successful completion of probation).

1 day on, 2 days off rota, averaging approximately 10 working days per month.

Sleep-ins available as required, paid at -75 per night.

Fully funded Level 4 or Level 5 qualification pathways.

Additional Information

The -1,000 welcome bonus is subject to repayment on a pro-rata basis if an employee voluntarily leaves or is dismissed for misconduct within their first 12 months.

All successful applicants will be subject to safer recruitment and pre-employment checks. A charge of up to -74.70 may initially apply for right-to-work checks, ID checks and DBS applications, where applicable. These costs are refundable following successful completion of induction.
