Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Component Engineer (Suspension) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.Component design and release role for suspension mechanical and hydraulic components. Responsible for working with multiple potential suppliers to develop components from concept selection through to launch.Roles and Responsibilities: Collating and agreeing requirements with internal stakeholders and agreeing / negotiating these design requirements with potential suppliers.Co-ordinating internal/supplier development activities to finalise product specifications.Work with Procurement to manage supplier selection processes.Managing chosen suppliers towards delivering quality products on-time and to cost and attribute targets.Working within the JLR PCDS process, deliver Gateway requirements for components owned. Skills Required:Essential: Experience of working with automotive suppliers for mechanical and/or hydraulic components.Experience of component development and design verification planning and management.Experience of JLR on-cycle product and programme delivery processes.Excellent communication skills and team player. Desirable: Knowledge of hydraulics principles and underlying physics.Experience in using Matlab for data analysis.Experience of using quality toolset e.g. DFMEA. Education: Mechanical Engineering degr
