The role involves managing customer-led design projects from concept through to manufacture, ensuring designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, compliant with quality standards, and delivered to agreed timescales. The Design Engineer works closely with customers, Sales, Toolroom, Production, and Planning teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and successfully delivered. Key Responsibilities and Main Tasks Customer and Project-Based Design Manage customer-led design projects from initial enquiry through to first-off manufacture. Design new products and modify existing designs to meet customer requirements and company standards. Produce and maintain project plans to ensure key milestones and delivery dates are achieved. Communicate project progress with internal stakeholders and customers through regular updates and meetings. Product and Innovation Development Design innovative new product solutions identified through customer enquiries, Sales, or management initiatives.
