Warehouse Operative

Location: Southampton, SO18

Pay Rates:

• Standard: -12.71 per hour (rising to -12.79 after 12 weeks)
• Nights: -13.47 per hour (rising to -14.17 after 12 weeks)

Role Overview:

• Accurately scan and sort parcels according to destination ( -min 2000 parcels per shift)
• Build crates, palletise parcels, and ensure items are securely prepared for dispatch
• Support the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse as part of a collaborative team
• Utilise strong attention to detail and follow written instructions to achieve high standards
• Flexible shift patterns available, with variable start and finish times dependent on workload and parcel volumes
• Loading and unloading trailers

Key Requirements:

• Able to communicate confidently in both spoken and written English
• Capable of understanding and following scanning, labelling, and sorting instructions
• Physically fit to handle manual tasks in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 15 kg, when unloading trailers.
• Commitment to working Sundays and occasional Saturday''s , with flexibility across all 7 days
• Reliable and punctual, with a positive approach to teamwork
• Flexible

Shift Patterns:

• Inbound: Start times between 2pm - 6pm
• Twilight: Start times between 12pm - 4pm
• Nights: Start times between 8pm - midnight
• Shifts typically last 5-9 hours; longer hours may be required during peak periods.
• Due to the nature of the operation, start and finish times cannot be guaranteed in advance and will vary according to workload, so a flexible approach to working hours is required.
