HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C) – Tramping Required

Location: Chesterfield
Pay: £17.11 per hour | £25.66 overtime
Tramping Allowance: £30 per night
Hours: Monday–Friday | 6am or 7am starts

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver for a well-established business based in Chesterfield.

This role involves delivering and collecting goods across the UK, with approximately two nights away from home per week. An additional £30 overnight tramping allowance is paid for each night spent away.

• Driving Class 2 (Category C) vehicles for scheduled deliveries and collections.

• Approximately two nights of tramping per week.

• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.

• Loading and unloading where required.

• Completing delivery paperwork accurately.

• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

• Following driver hours, tachograph and road transport regulations.

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Previous Class 2 driving experience.

• Manual driving experience.

• Maximum 3 penalty points preferred.

• Good geographical knowledge.

• Comfortable with overnight stays away from home.

• Reliable, punctual and professional.

• £17.11 per hour.

• £25.66 per hour overtime after 36 hours.

• Additional £30 per night tramping allowance.

• Approximately two nights away per week.

• Monday–Friday working.

• 6am or 7am starts.

• Weekly pay.

• Temporary assignment.
