CMM Inspector / Quality Inspector
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 07:30 – 16:00

We are recruiting for an experienced CMM Inspector / Quality Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong inspection background and hands-on experience programming CMM equipment within a precision engineering environment.

The Role

As a CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards. You'll play a key role in maintaining product quality through accurate inspection and measurement techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
• Inspect parts against engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and a variety of gauges.
• Program and operate CMM machines.
• Program and use various vision inspection systems.
• Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately.
• Identify and report non-conforming products.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a CMM Inspector, Quality Inspector or Mechanical Inspector within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experienced using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
• Strong experience programming and operating CMM machines is essential.
• Experience with vision inspection systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality.
