Maintenance Engineer - Steel Rolling Location: West Bromwich Salary: 35,000 (Negotiable depending on experience) Job Type: Temp to Perm Red Recruitment Group is recruiting on behalf of a well-established industrial business for an experienced Steel Rolling Mill Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically strong engineer with experience maintaining heavy industrial machinery. You will play a key role in minimising production downtime, improving equipment reliability and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across rolling mill machinery and associated equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults involving gearboxes, bearings, rollers, conveyors, drives, hydraulics and other heavy industrial equipment. Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption to production. Strip, inspect, repair, align and rebuild mechanical components. Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to equipment reliability. Support machinery installations, upgrades, shutdowns and continuous improvement projects. Identify critical spare parts, obtain supplier quotations and coordinate the procurement of maintenance components. Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
