Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Construction Schemes We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of construction projects across the Teesside region. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering a mix of commercial, residential, and infrastructure schemes. Role Overview You will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of multiple projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The role requires a proactive individual who can operate independently and manage competing priorities across several live sites. Key Responsibilities Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment Monitor project costs and cash flow, providing regular financial reports Conduct valuations, variations, and final accounts Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements Liaise with project managers, clients, and site teams Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry Strong knowledge of contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills Strong attention to detail and organisational ability Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field Professional membership (e.g. RICS) desirable but not essential
