Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Pay: -90110 per day (depending on experience)
Aspire People are currently recruiting for a caring and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rochdale.
This rewarding opportunity involves supporting a Year 1 pupil on a one-to-one basis who has autism and additional complex needs.
The child requires consistent support with learning, emotional development, and day-to-day routines within the classroom setting.
We are looking for someone patient, nurturing, and dedicated to helping children thrive in education.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
-Assist the pupil with classwork and learning activities set by the teacher
-Support communication, social development, and emotional regulation
-Help with transitions, routines, and maintaining structure
-Provide personal care support when required
-Implement support strategies set by the class teacher and SENCO
-Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to staff
-Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
-Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
Essential Requirements:
-Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
-Previous experience working within a UK primary school
-Experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
-Comfortable supporting with personal care
-Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
-Right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience:
-Previous experience in a 1:1 support role
-Autism-specific training or experience
-Team Teach or behaviour management training
-Good understanding of SEN support strategies
