Mechanical Design Engineer Contract (6 Months) Derby £30 per hourWe are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support a busy engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role will focus on updating and improving existing mechanical designs, restructuring legacy engineering documentation, and supporting ongoing product development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorksUpdate and reorganise legacy CAD drawings and assembliesGenerate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)Produce detailed manufacturing drawings including GDandTSupport engineering change processes and design documentation updatesWork closely with manufacturing and service teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturableAssist with design improvements and minor redesign workRequirementsProven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environmentStrong SolidWorks 3D CAD skillsExperience creating and managing BOMsStrong experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentationExperience working with large assemblies and legacy design dataGood understanding of GDandT and design for manufacturing (DFM)This is a great opportunity to join an established engineering team supporting the development and improvement of complex mechanical systems.If you''re interested in hearing more, please get in touch.
