Job title: Security Officer

Location: Dover (you must drive and have your own transport)

Salary: -29,858 + OT (OTE -35,000)

Hours: 12-hour shifts, days and nights

*You will work an average of 4 shifts of 12 hours over a rolling 8-day period, this will include working every other weekend. You will know your shift pattern when you join, and this will only change when covering for holidays or sickness.

The role:

We''re looking for an approachable individual to join a busy transport and distribution site in a site-based security role. You''ll be responsible for controlling access to and from the site and acting as the first point of contact for drivers, suppliers and customers.

Key responsibilities would be to:

• Monitor and control site access, ensuring the safe movement of vehicles.
• Liaise with drivers, issuing keys and distributing relevant paperwork.
• Manage visitors arriving, providing a friendly and professional welcome.
• Process transactions and maintain accurate records for customer accounts.
• Notify customers when their deliveries are due.
• Oversee truck parking during the evenings when required.
• Input data into existing spreadsheets and carry out general administrative tasks.

Experience and skills required:

• Previous experience in security, policing, gatehouse operations or similar would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
• Basic computer literacy and administrative skills, including using spreadsheets and email.
• Confidence dealing with members of the public, drivers and employees.
• Patience and the ability to manage competing demands in a busy environment.
• The ability to remain calm, professional and approachable under pressure.
